FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
You can use a CBD tincture oil by using the dropper applicator. By simply opening the CBD oil bottle, squeezing the top of the silicon topper, you can see how many milligrams you are taking based on the measurement lines on the glass dropper.
Once you have your desired amount of oil in the dropper, you can place the dropper into your mouth, squeeze the silicon topper, and let the oil drip under your tongue. The faster you squeeze the dropper, the faster the drops will come out, and vise versa.
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a compound found in the cannabis plant that is non-psychotropic, it won’t get you “stoned” or “high”. CBD is just one of 100+ cannabinoids located in the cannabis plant, which can be an umbrella term for the hemp and marijuana plants.
CBD oil can be extracted from both marijuana and hemp plants. When CBD tincture is derived from the hemp plant, there may be 0.0% - 0.3% THC present. CBD oil derived from the marijuana plant may have 0.3% THC or greater present.
Starting low and slow and a great way to ease yourself into taking the right CBD dosage. You can always increase your dosage as you start to get a feel for taking CBD and what benefits you are looking for. For instance, we recommend starting with half a dropper of our CBD Drops (.50 mL), giving you time to gauge how that dosage may affect you and increasingly accordingly if desired.
We highly recommend talking with your primary care physician prior to starting any supplements or CBD products. Taking CBD may have an affect or interact with your current medications, so always proceed with caution and professional advice first.
Factors that can influence your CBD dosage may include:
- Your size and weight
- Experience with CBD
- Administration Methold
- Frequency of use
The dosage of CBD you take at a given time may also influence how long the cannabinoids stay in your system. If you’re taking large doses at one time, the CBD may take longer to metabolize in your system, thus, it may take longer to leave your system.
Your metabolism is a key player in regards to how fast CBD can exit your system. Also, if you take your CBD with food compared to on an empty stomach, the metabolic effect may be slightly altered.
Different methods of CBD will have different effects on your body. For instance, if you smoke or vape CBD, this can take effect almost instantly. On the other hand, if you are ingesting CBD it may have a more delayed effect, since it needs to be metabolized.
If you take CBD tincture oils sublingually, this may metabolize more quickly due to its absorption directly into the bloodstream via your tastebuds, bypassing your digestive system.
CBD capsules may take longer to be metabolized and absorbed due to the path and process it will take through your digestive system.
CBD topicals and lotions will absorb differently through the skin compared to other methods. The cream will be absorbed transdermally, seeping into the bloodstream.
You can’t overdose on CBD. A 2017 clinical update published in Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research Journal considered CBD to be generally safe. If you take a large dosage of CBD capsules or any CBD product for that matter, there are potential side effects that may follow.
Potential side effects may include:
- Decreased appetite
- Diarrhea
- Fatigue
- Vomiting
- Extreme sleepiness
- Lethargy
CBD may take 1 - 6 hours to work, but this depends on the user’s metabolism, frequency of CBD usage and dosage, type of CBD they’re using, and their size and weight.
CBD can stay in your system for anywhere from 2 - 7 days, depending on the 4 main factors above.
How often you use CBD oil will influence the amount of time it can remain in your system. For example, if you infrequently take CBD Oil Drops or CBD Capsules, then it may not stay in your system for as long compared to if you took CBD products everyday.
